  1. Take a look at this map – Are you in our delivery area? If not, this may be of help.

  2. We offer two meal selections every day! Meals are delivered fresh and ready to be reheated in the microwave or oven.

  3. We deliver Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Wednesday's meal comes on Tuesday and Friday's meal comes on Thursday.

    Choose the days of the week you would like to receive deliveries. There is a minimum of two days per week.

    Pricing Structure: To ensure that we can keep meals affordable for lower income individuals, Halifax Meals on Wheels has a tiered pricing structure in place.

    Privately paying clients are asked to call to determine the price of their meals. If your meal costs are being covered by a third-party organization such as Department of Community Service, NS Health Authority, Community Living, Department of Veterans Affairs, or any Social Development organization, please have your case worker contact us directly for meal authorization, and program cost information.

    All clients are invoiced at the end of each month, and payment can be made by cheque, e-transfer, or credit card.

We do not deliver on statutory holidays.

Weather related events may result in unexpected delivery cancellations.

If this should occur we will make every attempt to contact clients directly by phone.

Information on service cancellations will be posted on our social media and sent to storm watch outlets.

Can't Be Home for a Delivery

  • Have an appointment or a social engagement? A meal delivery can be cancelled without charge if you let us know by 9am two business days before the delivery.
  • Can’t be home but still want the meal delivered? Call the office to make a delivery arrangement.


Payment Options

  • At your door: cheque given to the volunteer.
  • Through office: etransfer, credit card - $2 surcharge, cheque by mail.
  • Payment is due at the end of the month. You will be contacted at the end of each month regarding the fee owing.
